White House’s New Strategy: Quote ‘Mean Girls’


I gotta hand it to ‘em.

Tuesday, the White House posted a picture of the First Dog, Bo, in the White House with the caption, “Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen.”

Speaking “Mean Girls” is pretty universal. Who can forget the scene where Gretchen Weiners uses the word “fetch” to mean cool or trendy and Rachel McAdam’s queen-bee character, Regina George, looks down at the lowly Gretchen and says,”Gretchen, stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.”

So, reactions to this photo and caption were all over the place. Any non-political mainstream person will eat this up. But, there are many conservatives who commented on this photo with disdain.

People who aren’t fans of this type of White House post might argue that this administration is continuing to do what its done all along – appeal to the masses – young people seeped in pop culture who “don’t follow politics.” Obama is a likable, down-to-earth-ish-guy and his administration posts a photo and quotes the popular movie, “Mean Girls.”
