Life is filled with its little disappointments. You order a cheeseburger, it takes an entire half hour for them to cook it, and when it finally arrives the beef patty has been cooked to a charred cinder.
Or, to take another example, you hear about a mass murder taking place in southern California, and you cross your fingers that the crazed killer will turn out to be white dude — which is both fodder for your anti-gun position and proof that all Muslims are peaceful people — and (drat!) the shooter turns out to have shrieked “Allahu Akhbar!” before pulling the trigger.
Such was the case for Team Clinton last December when reports of a shooting in San Bernardino emerged. When the bad news came across the screen courtesy of MSNBC, Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta emailed campaign spokeswoman Karen Finney to tell her his burger was overcooked.
From WiliLeaks (h/t Joe Newby):
Christopher Hayes was the reporter Podesta was evidently watching when the identity of the terrorists was revealed.
This outcome had to be bad news for Hillary Clinton herself, who had publicly declared mere days before the shootings that Muslims are “peaceful and tolerant” and have “nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.” Of course, she changed her mind soon after the killers were confirmed to be “Moozlim,” as she pronounces it, calling Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook “ISIS wannabes.”
