School Shooting in Sparks, Nevada Reveals a Hero

There’s been another tragic school shooting, this time in Nevada.

Two people are confirmed dead, while two others have been injured.

The two dead include a popular math teacher and the shooter himself, who was a student at the middle school and took his own life.

The police were alerted of shots fired early this morning, around 7:15 am, outside the school building at Sparks Middle School in Sparks, Nevada. Between 150 – 200 officers responded to the call, and the two other adjacent schools were evacuated.

13-year-old student Kyle Nucum told the Reno Gazette-Journal that he watched the shooting happen.

“We were at the basketball court and we heard a pop, like a loud pop, and everybody was screaming and the teacher came to investigate – I thought it was a firecracker at first, but the student was pointing a gun at the teacher after the teacher told him to put it down and the student fired a shot at the teacher and the teacher fell and everybody ran away. And we ran across the field to get somewhere safe and while we were running we heard about four or five more shots and we just got somewhere safe. This lady let us into her house.”
