Former Governor of Alaska and GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin closed out the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday night with a keynote address. And it was Palin-esque as always.
Touching on the major planks of the conservative platform: social conservatism, limited government, and a strong national defense, Palin delivered a speech as rousing as her first major address at the 2008 Republican National Convention. She delivered a parody of Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs & Ham, and plenty of zingers aimed at Obama and his band of marauding liberals.
Palin called young people of America “Obamacare suckas,” who face the brute force of The Affordable Care Act’s financial burden. She poked fun at Secretary of State John Kerry’s “long face,” as well as Obama’s evident lack of preparedness in handling Russia. Of the conflict she asked, “Who could have seen that coming,” referencing her prediction of this situation when running for VP in 2008. At least once, chants of “Run Sarah, run” erupted from the crowd in response to her remarks.
