My beautiful 27-year-old daughter, a wife, mother and writer, just had a cancer scare. What was first diagnosed as a healthy pregnancy turned out to be a fast-growing, uterine tumor that had to be surgically removed immediately. Our friends and family got on their knees and prayed for it not to be cancer. It was not. We rejoiced. In the above video, Sara Walker, a young wife, mother and writer, also had a cancer scare, prayed with her friends and family, and it turned out to be cancer. She went to be with the Lord August 28, 2012.
Tomorrow, October 6, 2013 there will be a 5K Sara Walker Run, in her honor, that will raise money for Blessings Hospital in Malawi, Africa and for publication of Sara’s writings that inspired so many during her fight with cancer. Info about the Run here.
There will be a Worship Service to follow the race hosted by Lipscomb University and benefiting The Sara Walker Foundation.
“My greatest hope is that, again, that no one will say ‘I lost my battle with cancer.’

– Sara Walker, June 11, 2012
About the 5K Run Tomorrow:
“On August 28, 2012, Sara Walker’s battle against stage 4 colon cancer came to an end, but her ministry and impact in this world had just begun. Friends began The Walker Run in 2011 as a way to raise money to support the Walker family during Sara’s illness. Family and Friends joined together following Sara’s passing to form THE SARA WALKER FOUNDATION to carry out Sara’s vision of bringing hope to those who need it most.
