Revisiting the Impeachment of President Bill Clinton

Although Bill Clinton recovered politically from his Impeachment, it will no doubt have an impact on his historical standing. Was it just about sex, or was it about the rule of law? Was he somehow comprised by the affair to the point he could not pursue counter-terrorism as vigorously as possible and hunt down Osama Bin Laden? He has denied as much and for all we know Clinton may be right. After all, he did pursue the war in Kosovo. I’m not sure he really was “the most investigated president” as this article says. Clinton did have a sympathetic media. A lot more to say about this so stay tuned.

Widely considered the most investigated President ever, the Clinton administration was dogged by controversy from the very beginning. Upon becoming President, Clinton alienated conservatives by fulfilling a key campaign promise made to the gay community to eliminate the long-standing prohibition against homosexuals serving in the U.S. military. Clinton eventually backed off that promise in favor of a less controversial ‘don’t ask-don’t tell’ policy.
