A Recent Video Baton Rouge Shooter Made On ‘What It Takes’ To Overcome Oppression

Gavin Eugene Long, the lone gunman who shot and killed three police officers in Baton Rouge, wounding three more, one critically, recorded the following YouTube video eight days ago from Dallas.

In it, he notes that he was there during the massacre of five officers, explaining that it was a coincidence. He then goes on to provide his manifesto for achieving justice in an unjust society.

Noting the recent passage of Independence Day, he observes that it’s OK for Europeans to celebrate their independence from an oppressor nation but not for Africans. He then delivers this prescription:

“You gotta fight back. That’s the only way a bully knows to quit. He doesn’t know words. He can’t understand words, I promise you. He doesn’t understand protests. If y’all want to keep protesting, do that. But for the serious ones, the real ones, the alpha ones, we know what it’s going to take.”
