Poor Wittle Gen-Y Yuppies Are Unhappy

by Tami Jackson

News flash: the generation that was raised as the center of the universe, and given medals for any and all participation in sports, and suckled on the “I deserve HIGH self esteem because I’m special” mantra, is unhappy.

Decades ago the hippies of the 60′s encouraged everyone with the Timothy Leary credo,” Turn on, tune in, drop out.” Those same “turned on” hippies found a place of solace within the cocoon of academia and began teaching the younger generation and training burgeoning teachers.

The grown-up hippies told these students “You’re a by product of complete and utter random chance! But you are also so very special that we don’t think grades and rigid standards are good for your fragile little egos.”

The youth, now fully convinced they embodied a pure and untainted wisdom far superior to their dull-witted and tech-challenged parents and grand-parents, all intoned the highest of all credos, “It’s all good.”

Now, surprise, surprise, surprise! America is overrun with a generation of cry-babies who view themselves as too special to flip burgers and too precious to ever be fired or criticized. Every day a new article can be seen analyzing why these Gen-Y Yuppies are so unhappy.
