Olympic Charter a lie for many countries

“The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.” –Olympic Charter

The practice of sport is a human right. Interesting. Because I am pretty sure that Shooting is a sport and even has a number of Olympic events. Yet this HUMAN RIGHT is denied a great number of people around the world. One need look no further than the past 2 summer Olympic venues.

In the UK, handgun suppression for law abiding citizens is absolute and for 16 years was outlawed for even Olympian shooters. Finally, in 2012, 27 year old barmaid Georgina Geikie will be the first to compete in the Olympic cartridge pistol event since 1996.
