Obamacare: Good for the American People but not for Congress


It’s no wonder that a recent Pew Research Poll reveals that trust in government is at an all-time low.

When Congress and the Obama Administration routinely meet behind closed doors to conspire against the American people, ensuring that Congress and their staff won’t be subjected to the same insidious laws that they impose on us, is anyone surprised that dentists are more popular than lawmakers?

It was announced last Friday, in what has now become the Obama administration’s standard “Friday news dump,” that through a ruling issued by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), members of Congress and their aides, will be exempt from the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Obamacare: good for thee but not for me.

Last spring, when inside-the-beltway rumors circulated that the White House and Congressional leaders were conspiring to reach a deal to rescue Congress and their aides from Obamacare –the same ghastly law that was passed through parliamentary gymnastics and underhanded bribery –big government defenders nearly had a collective aneurysm denying this “baseless speculation.”

According to liberal apologist Ezra Klein of the Washington Post:

“This isn’t, in other words, an effort to flee Obamacare. It’s an effort to fix a drafting error that prevents the federal government from paying into insurance exchanges on behalf of congressional staffers who got caught up in a political controversy.”

Though Klein may try to masquerade the OPM’s fiat as a harmless attempt “to fix a drafting error,” most Americans see it for what it is: liberal tyranny. Congress sees the horrific healthcare law advancing and they are in stealth political mode to protect themselves and their faithful cronies.
