The world as we know it is a giant ball of gas and rock hurtling through space in rotation around the sun.
On this planet, we have seen many different forms of governmental and societal control systems put in place for the people inhabiting the Earth. We had seen some good and some bad systems come-about, however then came the United States of America.
The people of the United States occupy a large rock on the face of this planet, and for generations it was the premier rock to occupy. The founding-fathers of this country foresaw a place where people could live and communicate freely. Information was passed among fellow human-beings in the U.S. with the purpose of uniting its people and giving them accurate information in order to base decisions from, after-all it is the People of the United States which govern it, not the politicians. Unfortunately this is no-longer the case. Media outlets are more like dungeons of misinformation and lies which drive the American people occupying this rock to a more divisive stance, which could potentially send this beacon of freedom careening into something that this particular rock on this particular planet was never supposed to careen into.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said “No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.”
Again, this is no longer true, and in fact we have grown disgustingly distant from this stance of having a well-informed public. This over-arching goal of a President coming into power during a transitional period in mankind’s ability to inform itself was a positive one, and the people were empowered by his words that day. What Kennedy was saying is that “the government should heed the opinions and views of its people, if they are properly informed.” The properly informed part is what we are fighting with today, and was my motivation for writing this article.
The mainstream media are going around labeling honest news organizations as “Fake News” as if their own reporting was 100% accurate 100% of the time. The problem with this is that they were wrong nearly 100% of the time through the 2016 Presidential Election campaigns and they are still to this day reporting false and misleading information to the public, and in doing so they are creating the division we see on our streets and a misinformed public. They are attacking so-called “fake news” relentlessly, while at the same time they are running fake stories slandering Trump and his supporters as racist, sexist, xenophobe, Islamophobic, bigots, which is entirely unfounded conjecture and is yet to be actually proven.
The very same news agencies who laughed-off Donald Trump and claimed “Donald Trump will never be President,” and the same news agencies who were showing polls which had Hillary Clinton in the lead 10-15 points the day before the election, and the same news media which lied into their cameras and through their keyboards for the past year and a half…these are the people coming out and saying that we need to shut-down “fake news?” They are petitioning to shut down Breitbart, Drudge, InfoWars and other news agencies, which have actually been honest with the American people through this election-cycle. They are directly attacking every news agency which supported Trump in any form or fashion, even though the people of this country just elected Trump by a landslide. Something is not right here.
The only chance we have to make it right again is if “We the People” begin to push-back against these mainstream media outlets, which are spilling propagandized misinformation all over our airwaves and our internet browsers. Continue Reading
