On September 10th, Obama announced he will accept 10,000 Syrian refugees next fiscal year, a large increase over the ~1500 accepted this year, which ends September 30th. On September 21st, he said he would raise the number of refugees accepted from 70,000 to 85,000 in fiscal year 2016, which starts the end of September. This will include the 10,000 Syrians.
In fiscal year 2017, the number will go up—to 100,000.
Certainly the case could be made that the refugee issue is urgent—but why is it urgent for us, and not for their co-religionist countries in the Middle East, most of whom have ignored the problem? For most of the refugees are Muslims. And the UN decides on the religion of refugees to America.
Hundreds of thousands of Christians and Yazidis face murder for their religion, by the rebel groups in Syria, by ISIS in Syria and Iraq; by Boko Haram in Nigeria. But the UN and the State Department have chosen to virtually bar Christians from admittance.
Breitbart says Obama’s new refugee number will be on top of almost a quarter million migrants already admitted annually. Breitbart reviewed State Department and Homeland Security data and found that “in 2013 alone, 117,423 migrants from Muslim-majority countries were permanently resettled within the United States.
