If you know of a crime about to be committed and you do nothing to stop it, can you face criminal charges?
The answer is yes. It’s called a crime of omission. If you know that someone is going to murder, assault, rape or rob someone and you fail to report it to the person or authorities, allowing the crime to happen, you could, under certain circumstances be charged with accessory to the fact by omission.
So let me ask you this question: if the President of the United States knowingly allows his policies to lead to the commission of crimes by others, is he guilty of being an accessory to those crimes due to his omission – the failure to stop or prevent them?
