Miss Louisiana Schools Obama on National Security

Miss Louisiana’s answer to the question she was given at Sunday’s Miss USA pageant indicates that she’s more aware of national security matters than President Obama. And if the applause she received is any indication, the audience was with her.

Brittany Guidry, who represented Louisiana, was asked about the prisoner swap the president had announced the week before, where we gave up five of the worst Taliban detainees in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a suspected deserter.

“In recent weeks the U.S. has released five detainees from Guantanamo in exchange for one U.S. soldier held captive in Afghanistan,” pageant judge Ian Ziering noted in the final round of questioning. “The U.S. policy is to leave no soldier behind. Do you think it’s fair to sacrifice or swap lives in order to uphold this policy?”
