Lying Criminal Instigates Department of Education Investigation

The Department of Education (DOE) is out of control and must be stopped. Here on, some of our most popular articles are ones about Common Core, the so-called “consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn”. Common Core pushers leave out the facts: that it was ushered in without any input from parents, there are no studies that prove its effectiveness, there is no constitutional right for the feds to dictate education guidelines to states and a million other things. What’s really disturbing is that if you ask most parents about Common Core, they have no idea what you’re talking about. Over 30 years ago, President Ronald Reagan called for the termination of Jimmy Carter’s 1979-80 brainchild. For years, the GOP had the termination on its platform. FOX News wrote, “Every year from 1980-2000, Republicans included in their platform the plank: ‘The federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in school curricula or to control jobs in the market place. This is why we will abolish the Department of Education,’ read the 1996 platform.” But by the mid-1990s, abolition was no longer a priority.

“President Obama’s 2012 spending request for the department is $77.4 billion for discretionary spending – up from $46.2 billion 10 years earlier. The department itself notes it has the third largest budget despite having the smallest staff of 15 Cabinet agencies,” says FOX. Former secretaries of education Lamar Alexander and William Bennett have stated that the department has “an irresistible and uncontrollable impulse to stick its nose into areas where it has no proper business. Most of what it does today is no legitimate affair of the federal government. The Education Department operates from the deeply erroneous belief that American parents, teachers, communities and states are too stupid to raise their own children, run their own schools and make their own decisions.”
