Why I Don’t Stand With Rand

While Rand Paul may have won the Presidential Straw Poll at CPAC 2014 and be seen as a bright light for many conservatives and libertarians alike, I’m one of a few who still aren’t behind him. I draw the ire of libertarians especially when I say this, get called a RINO and mocked for my support of the establishment. Yes, I would certainly rather have Rand Paul in office today if I were given the choice, but darn it I’m a conservative, I like my free will, and I don’t want to be forced to choose the lesser of two evils. Sure I appreciate Rand’s support for a small government, and I think he would be a good leader here at home. But my concern comes with his foreign policy – if I were to support Rand, I would have to apologize to President Obama and democrats around him or be called out for my inconsistency.
