We live in a sad time where even when a law enforcement officer does something exceptional to benefit the community, they are still met with backlash from the anti-cop culture.
A Detroit police officer was caught on video last week doing a good deed on her off-duty hours. She used her time and money to give school supplies to a little girl in need. When the video was posted on Facebook it received lots of praise from neighbors, but was also met with ridicule by those in the community she once arrested.
“She’s a well-known officer in the 11th precinct,” Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt told the station. “She wears plain clothes, she’s made a lot of arrests, and some people don’t like to get arrested.”
One Facebook user going by “Gee Ross” took the ridicule too far when he wrote “kill that pig” Sunday night. Police didn’t take his comment lightly.
