Colorado’s Open-Carry Cafe Celebrates 2nd Year


Shooters Grill, located in Rifle, Colo., is known not only for its great food, but also as a place where both staff and patrons are encouraged to openly carry their firearms. And it’s now offering other firearm-related services to its customers.

The eatery’s open carry policy is both an homage to the Second Amendment and a figurative poke in the eye to the restrictive gun bills signed into law last year by Colorado’s Gov. John Hickenlooper.

Although Shooters opened a year ago to great fanfare, the National Rifle Association’s Ginny Simone decided to pay it a visit to see how the restaurant was faring. It’s doing just fine, according to Lauren Boebert, who owns and runs Shooters along with her husband Jayson
