Do people who scream for the blood of those who don’t follow their religion stop for comedy routines?
Yet that is exactly what celebrity persona Bono of the well-known band U2 suggested would resolve the issues at a U.S. Senate subcommittee on Capitol Hill Tuesday over an immediate call for action on how to deal with the refugee crisis and terrorism.
“The first people that Adolf Hitler threw out of Germany were the dadaists and surrealists. Don’t laugh, I think comedy should be deployed. It’s like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But if you laugh at them when they’re goose-stepping down the street, and it takes away their power. So I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen.”
