Not only is Ted Cruz moving forward in the battle for the GOP presidential nomination, he has picked a running mate. Cruz will officially announce his choice this afternoon.
U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Wednesday will name former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina his running mate for a possible general election run, Politico reported, citing two sources with knowledge of the plan.
Cruz, a U.S. senator for Texas, earlier said he will make a major announcement at 4 p.m. on Wednesday but gave no other details.
Currently, Cruz is trailing Donald Trump with 562 delegates to Trump’s 954. A candidate needs 1,237 to win the GOP nomination.
