I am no fan of Bill Maher. However, there are a (very) few things that I can consistently agree with him on. The first is the threat of Islam and the fact that Islam and Christianity are in no way similar. Maher often bangs the drum that violence in Islam is tolerated (and encouraged), whereas it is denounced in Christianity. The second thing that Maher and I usually agree on is our common distaste for all things politically correct.
On Friday Maher stopped for a second while talking to fellow comedian Jim Ross to discuss the topic of political correctness. Maher brought up the recent hubbub involving Jerry Seinfeld:
“I hear that all the time. I don’t play colleges, but I hear a lot of people tell me, ‘Don’t go near colleges. They’re so PC.’”
Seinfeld says the youth today don’t understand what it means when they use these politically correct terms so easily. “They just want to use these words: ‘That’s racist;’ ‘That’s sexist;’ ‘That’s prejudice,’” he said. “They don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.”
