All these feisty Republicans, right now, are standing on two opposite sides of room, when it comes to three things: national security, immigration, and funding for Obamacare. These extremely important issues have created these divisive wedges within our party which funny-man Dennis Miller thinks may be leading up to, as he says, the “awkward birth of a third party.”
Miller graced The O’Reily factor on Wednesday to discuss all the bickering in the Republican Party. Nothing new there. This week, Rand Paul and Chris Christie (both possible 2016 Presidential Candidates) have had some public word slinging between them. Their disagreements are numerous, but Paul came out on TV saying he wanted to kiss and make up with Christie over a beer.
He went on to quote Roger Ailes who said, “You cannot shoot inside the tent.”
I went to CPAC this year, and saw something really cool. I saw a sea of young libertarians donning their “Stand with Rand” stickers sitting beside old school conservatives – finding common ground.
This is what HAS to happen if we want to have any chance of progress in being sustained as a political party.
