Many of my fellow conservatives are in an uproar over Coca-cola’s Super Bowl ad with “America the Beautiful” being sung in many languages.
Blame it all on Charlie Rich. His 1976 version of this American classic has an intro that powerfully expresses an appreciation for America through multiple languages and then he says: “You know there’s a lot of ways to say it and it’s a privilege to play it, ‘cause a lot of good people earned it, and this is how I learned it.”
Nobody does Charlie’s version better than my uncle David Kyle. I use to have him sing it with the Kyle Family at all my political events (you can watch a video of them here). Not once did anyone object.
